About Sharon

I have been teaching private piano lessons for over 30 years, and in the Pottstown area since 2008. I have taught all levels from beginners to advanced students, and adults as well as children. The core of what I teach is classical and includes music theory and an emphasis on good technique. A pianist with a classical foundation is equipped to branch out into any other style. I am happy to add in various styles that interest the student. I am also a church musician and am happy to help students who are interested in serving in this way in their own church. My students participate in an annual recital and, as I am a member of the National Guild of Piano Teachers, they have the option to participate in the National Guild auditions.

B.A. in piano performance, M.MUS in piano literature and pedagogy

About the lesson

Lessons for beginners are 30 minutes per week. More advanced students may opt for 45 minute or 1 hour lessons. Students should have a piano or full size keyboard for practice at home. I will discuss policies and fees with prospective students.

Sharon is a wonderful piano instructor. My daughter has come a long way in a short time and she loves her lessons. She is very kind and easy to understand as an instructor. We've been with Sharon for several years and we highly recommend her.
