About Anne

I have been teaching keyboard for many years. Mostly I teach piano, but I also am accomplished at harpsichord. I have been a member of the Music Teachers Association of California (MTAC) for many years. My have an MA in music.

I enjoy seeing the students progress in their ability to play and enjoy their own ability to make music.

I have an MA in Music from Lone Mountain College in San Francisco, CA that I obtained back in the 1980's. I have been teaching keyboard since the 1970's. I organized my own musical group called Tudor Rose. I played harpsichord. We also had a recorder, percussion, oboe, and violin at different times with the group. We mostly played Elizabethan and other early music. I have made several CD's with my group and solo. I taught keyboard at two local music schools for many years, CSMA (Community School of Music and Art) in Mountain View, CA, and The Music School in Sunnyvale, CA. Currently I just do private keyboard lessons in my home in Redwood City, CA.

About the lesson

The student and parents if a child meet with me to see if I am a good fit for them. I explain the program I use to teach piano and the student and parents tell me about their goals for learning to play. Then if they want to go ahead, we schedule a weekly lesson and determine at what level the student is on.
