About Spencer

Call or text me @ (concealed information).

I have been teaching for 8 years and am currently studying music at the University of Utah. I have accomplished playing with the Salt Lake Symphony in January 2015 in playing Liszt's Totentanz for the 2014 to 2015 Summer Arts competition at the U of U. I tutor some of the students that are also studying with the professor I am under, which has helped to grow better as a teacher and understand how students learn. I am available to teach both students who have teachers already and just need a better understanding on what has been assigned to them and also to students who are looking for a teacher in general. My methods would be adapted from my professor's and also some of my own, in which I mean by my understanding of technique and how to use your hands to develop a grasp of piano playing. I would also include music theory along with pieces and technical studies. Given that I am in direct contact with a Doctor of music, I can continually strive to get better results out of a student and how to improve my own teaching or with a struggling student.

About the lesson

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Students should be aware of what their goal is and what they want to acheive with the piano. They should ask themselves "What kind of music do I want to play?", "How far do I want to go with piano?" These are just a few questions along the lines of what thry should ask themselves.
