About the lesson

I attempt to get to know that student, not only as a piano student, but as a person. I try to find out what they expect from piano lessons, types of music that they like and what goals they may have pertaining to piano lessons. If they are a beginner, I get them playing on the keyboard in the first lesson; if a transfer or returning student, I have them show me what they have previously been studying.

All ages: pre-school through adult; beginner though advanced and/or college prep.

Hire Me!!!!!

Attending the Texas Music Teachers' Convention in Dallas. This is an opportunity to be re-inspired through convention sessions, meeting and socializing with other piano teachers and shopping for up-to-th-minute teaching resources. Also attending concerts of nationally recognized pianists and the ultimate joy of seeing some of my students participating in the perfomance opportunities provided through the Student Affiliate of Texas Music Teachers' Assn.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Are they willing to commit to the weekly lessons, the practice time needed to be successful in those lessons and any performance opportunies offered by my studio or the music teachers' associations.

Do they just want to play for their own pleasure?

Do they have an adequate practice instrument at their disposal?
