My two daughters began piano lessons with Jen over zoom during the pandemic. I wasn’t sure how this format would work out, but have been impressed with how much they’ve been able to learn. Beyond gaining technical skills, with Jen my kids are learning to love and explore music. I will often catch them humming their piano songs while away from the piano. Sometimes I’ll find them tinkering around on the piano, trying to figure out new songs on their own. My kids have very different personalities, and I appreciate how Jen has adapted lessons to their individual learning styles and interests, incorporating things like video game and movie theme music in addition to the Suzuki method. I asked my kids to review piano lessons with Jen. 7-year old: “I like her. She’s nice and kind and funny as a teacher. She also has really silly and motivating ways to teach.” 11-year old: “I really like how she has fun activities and a positive attitude. She is patient even when you are being very difficult and is engaging.”

I have been a student of Jen’s for over a year. She is the piano teacher I wish I always had. She has taught me new ways to sight read, more efficient ways to practice, but most of all she has made the process of learning fun. Like most people, I had a scary piano teacher growing up, but Jen has helped me approach the piano and new pieces with less anxiety and more JOY! I highly recommend piano with Jen!
