About Aron

Are you a college student or late-stage high school student looking to polish up your writing skills or improve your work habits? Then you've come to the right place! I'm a University of Chicago Ph.D. currently writing up my dissertation in anthropology and disability studies. I'm passionate about tutoring students individually to help build confidence and sustainable practices when it comes to writing!

I've been a teaching assistant since 2016 and regularly work with undergraduate and graduate students in office hours. I've taught a wide variety of subjects from social sciences core classes, to anthropology to qualitative and quantitative methods. I also work as a peer mentor for graduate students, helping them develop good working habits.

My favorite part of tutoring is working with students one on one and seeing the growth in their writing style. I think learning to write is a lifelong journey, and I enjoy breaking down the unwritten rules of writing so that students can gain confidence and learn to excel. I particularly like working with students who struggle with anxiety or procrastination around writing, and helping people develop a healthy relationship with writing!

I have worked as a teaching assistant at the University of Chicago since 2016, leading discussion sections and working with students individually in office hours. I also have served as a peer mentor for graduate students since 2019, helping graduate students develop sustainable work habits and writing practices.

About the lesson

I typically do an initial intake meeting where I have students reflect on what they want to get out of tutoring, review current writing and academic habits, and work together to set tutoring goals. Tutoring is a collaborative relationship, and my aim is to help you achieve your goals and excel academically!
