About Kevin
I teach traditional martial arts from a "modern" viewpoint. I have collegiate experience in anatomy, kinesiology, and exercise science, which I incorporate in my teachings.
I love the combination of physical fitness, defense practicaltiy, and art. With martial arts I can teach how to stay safe, fit, and how to preserve the beautiful art.
I always admired my instructors growing up, so I would study how they taught and took what I liked and applied it to my own teaching. While I was an assistant instructor, the head of my school scouted me out and offered me a head instructor position.
I have been studying martial arts for over 16 years. I started teaching as an apprentice about 11 years ago, and became a head instructor roughly 6 years ago. I have also studied exercise science, anatomy in college with enhances my thought process of how the body should move during training.

I usually go over what goals or intentions they have with their training (fitness, defense, competition, etc.) I then do a small fitness test and go from there!
I have work with students as young as 3 years old all the way to 65. I also worked with many students with disabilities, including Autism, ADD/ADHD, Cerebral Palsy, etc.
Find someone you can really enjoy learning from. The teacher/students connection is very important for optimum learning and training.
