About Tanya
Tanya's shabby chic furniture restoration business, began with pieces she needed in her own home. Now, encouraged by friends' enthusiasm for her craft, Tanya offers her work for sale via the Internet. Tanya now combines her knowledge and art of shabby chic with unique upholstery techniques. "Twin's Chic" is so named not only because of the inspiration given her by her twin sister, but also because of the support of her husband, Greg, who also happens to be a twin.
She is an expert in multiple chalk painting techniques that she learned from painting in the Ukraine, and she has further developed the process of working with chalk paint for her furniture and home accessories restoration business.
The main purpose of the business is to offer clients the option to redesign their own outdated ( wood looking )furniture that they have at their homes into unique shabby chic style.
Seeing painted furniture for sale that tanya offers give propel ideas on how their furniture can look like after Tanya’s professional touches. Sometimes when people do not want to use their furniture for potential, they buy “new” antiques for Tanya to paint, or ask her to help them to find an antique that would be suitable for their project to redesign, paint and / or upholster . For that she charges fee and builds it into the cost of the custom order job.
Tanya’s husband Greg is a big help for the business. Greg uses his carpenter skills to help tanya to restore and fix furniture pieces. Recently Greg and Tanya were able to establish “Greg’s Rustic Furniture “ line, as Greg built and sold a few pieces from reclaimed rustic wood. The sales was random , but we hope it will bring more business in the future.
The business has CASH basis, People pay by cash mostly. And it is to keep it as much possible simple and have more time for creating part of the business.
