Barbara is a fantastic voice teacher. She is able to open up the singer’s voice and heart through her personalized and in-depth training. I studied with Barbara for over two years, and in that short time with her I grew immensely. She made me feel comfortable in her studio, which is necessary for proper growth as singing is such a vulnerable act, and I was able to trust her completely with my voice and my progress. I knew that she was capable of taking me where I needed to go, which ended up being much farther than I thought I was capable of at the time. I loved how she always took the time to explain the physical intricacies of the voice and body, something I needed in order to understand how to sing. With those specific explanations I was able to learn to trust myself in order to take the risks necessary to “find my voice.” She will always explain anything you don’t understand multiple times in as many ways as she can until you get the concept. And if in one lesson she couldn’t find the explanation, she would have it in the next! On top of her great training, and her own amazing voice, she is a wonderful person to be around.
