About Nicole

Singing. It’s the love of my life. I’ve been committed to my passion since 4 years old starting out as a successful pageant kid. With over 18 years of various training, including collegiate level instruction, I am well versed in the technique of voice performance. I have applied my skill and talent in a huge variety of ways: as a soloist in church choirs, as lead in multiple musical theater performances, singing competitions, choirs all throughout my schooling - including all state choir, and as a singer-songwriter and guitarist in my own original and cover bands. I have sang it all.

But what makes me most unique is my passion and perception of singing. Singing to me is the ultimate healing tool - it can truly be your therapy. I use my singing and songwriting to help push me forward in my life and to communicate my emotions. Singing is such an intimate way to share your soul and I’ve spent my entire life studying, practicing, and DOING it.

Over 30 years of vocal performance experience

8 years experience as an award winning folk and rock singer in Kansas City

Vocal experience in multiple genres: Jazz, gospel, Blues, rock, folk, classical, swing, musical theater, and foreign language

Have performed at a multitude of festivals and conferences across the country: Folk Alliance, SXSW, Smoky Hill River Festival, Boulevardia, Middle of the Map Fest, Plaza Art Fest, etc.

Have opened for Nationally touring acts such as Grace Potter and The Spin Doctors

About the lesson

My process will start with us discussing what it is you are aiming to achieve with your singing. Are you wanting to expand your range? Are you hoping to conquer your fear of singing publicly? Maybe you want to perform a song at a wedding and want guidance to master every note.

We’ll start with goals then ease into vocal warm ups and exercise. This will help understand your own unique voice as well as break the ice and prepare you for rehearsal.

Next would be determined based on your goals. If you want to expand your range, we’ll find a song that will provide reasonable challenges to help push your voice to the next level. If you want to master a specific song, we’ll run through the tune and start taking notes and making a game plan for how you can best deliver every note and word of your song.

Each singer is different so I try to keep an open mind on the game plan set for you. Regardless of your goal, I will do all I can to help get your voice to the level you are willing to work towards.

Details

In order to help you get to the place you want to be, I suggest signing up for a minimum of 4 lessons. That will give us a solid amount of time to workshop your vocal goals and get you where you want to be. Of course, I understand wanting to take one step at a time, one lesson at a time. I have the price breakdown below for either scenario:

Pay per lesson: 1-45 minute session: $85

Monthly Lessons: 1-45 minute session a week for 4 weeks | $300
