About Peter

We teach acting scene study for film. We draw a mostly on the inspiration of Stanislavski in order to produce natural film realism. This works whether you're doing comedy or drama. We have three weekly acting classes Tuesday evening, Thursday evening, and Saturday afternoon. I also work with small groups of two and three, and private instruction. Everything is based on shooting the scenes that we work on. We shoot scenes with our actors every week in our filmmaking workshop and this has provided material for the Actor demo reels that each student requires in order to be professional.

Our motto is: Get Ready, Get Booked!

We are also giving voice lessons at our studio. You will learn everything you need to know to improve as a singer.

I Love creating great films scenes with my actors and also dealing with a variety of people who sing in different styles. Helping each of my students to reach their goals and dreams is the main motivation of my work.

I come from a family of teachers. My mom was a teacher, my two sisters are teachers. It was natural to start working with others on what I had learned in my quest. Teaching is something I've done for years in both New York and Los Angeles.

I have personally had years of Actor Training in both Hollywood and in New York City. I also studied theater in college. In the beginning, as a working musician, I was on several stages. When I discovered Acting, it gave me the courage to let go and play on stage, while feeling comfortable and alive.

I currently study acting and directing constantly.

About the lesson

My typical process for working with a new student as an individual is to run them through a brief audition. Auditioning is where the actor really shows their strengths, or their blind spots. I can also listen to a monologue, if the student has one. We then go into working on scenes.

I have worked with raw beginners, and established professionals. Many of my students are currently getting work in the industry. I am always looking to help my students become stronger and more professional.

Always go with your feelings. If a teacher makes you feel good about yourself, keep going. If a teacher makes you feel bad about yourself or increases your self-consciousness or fear, stop going to that teacher immediately.

In my Saturday class today, we had a full house of 12 students. The room is electric! I really enjoy all the people I work with. Some will definitely hit the big time.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Every student of Acting has an idea of what they would like to portray. They usually don't feel ready for it, or they may feel that it's an impossible dream. It's very important for Actors, just like children, to validate and work towards their dreams, or goals. Before getting outside help, no matter what the topic, it's better to know yourself exactly what you want to create in your life.

Details

Individual lessons are $40 per hour lesson. My classes are $30 per class, and they run for three hours. My Beginners Comprehensive On-Camera Course is $397 for a three month program. This program includes an Actor Demo Reel for the student.
