Since 2012, Show How Studio has provided high quality vocal lessons, acting lessons, dance classes and audition prep workshops to the Fox Valley theater community. Our mission is to give students the tools they need to succeed in high school, college, community and professional theater.

Corrie Beula Kovacs graduated with a B.F.A. in Musical Theatre from Millikin University in Decatur, Illinois. She moved to New York City where she earned two Broadway tour credits and found work in musicals, dramatic and comedic plays, revues, workshops and television commercials. Corrie continues to choreograph, perform and teach voice and dance classes with a focus on musical theatre technique and storytelling.

Steve Kovacs attended The Miami University (Ohio) where he graduated Magna Cum Laude with a degree in Music Education. He taught general music, choral music, show choir and voice lessons during a twelve-year teaching career in New Jersey and Wisconsin. He directs, music directs and teaches singing and acting in the Fox Cities, and is a frequent workshop provider for the Fox Cities PAC Center Stage Awards. He is the composer/lyricist and co-author of WE LIKE IT WHERE?, an original musical written with Corrie that premiered at Northern Sky Theater in 2019.

At Show How Studio, we love to see confidence growing in our students. The transformative journey they take in developing technique and using it to enhance their storytelling is why we teach.

Corrie began teaching middle and high school students who were interested in developing musical theater vocal technique, including healthy belting and theatrical mix. Working entirely on referral, she quickly became recognized in the Fox Cities as an expert on musical theater vocal pedagogy.

Steve has taught vocal music in public schools in New Jersey and Wisconsin. He is recognized for his understanding of the male changing voice and for coaching singers on how to tell a story with their songs.

About the lesson

Show How Studio offers a free 30-minute consultation to prospective students. Meet with one of our instructors for a mini-lesson and explore your goals in a fun and pressure-free environment. Let us show you how we can help you master your performing arts skills.

Show How Studio works with middle school and high school students as well as adults. Our students are interested in refining their craft to become more capable musical theater participants in school, community and professional theater.

Most college music programs focus on classical training. While some classical concepts apply to theatrical singing, it has its own technique that is not always understood by classically trained teachers. Show How Studio offers a risk-free 30-minute consultation to affirm that your goals align with our expertise.

In the winter of 2020, Show How Studio sponsored the Northeast Wisconsin Theater Con. Community theaters from the Fox Cities, Green Bay and beyond presented and participated in the event. The goal was to connect theater companies with prospective auditionees and to provide community members information about auditions and opportunities.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Successful individuals start with the end in mind. Students should consider their end goals, then work backwards to determine how to proceed. Once you've determined your end goal, you will be better prepared to find teachers that can guide you on your journey.
