About Ryan

Our voices are direct expressions of the what is happening our lives and in our bodies.

In my teaching, I take a hollistic approach to find the best function of an individual's voice and help them to gain awareness of how our bodily habits effect our singing.

I work toward finding the language and tools for success for each individual student. As a teacher and coach, I believe that our approaches to teaching voice must be as diverse as the individuals that we guide. Lessons in my studio are tailored to the student and their desired growth.

Are you seeking to become a better musician and want to spend time on developing ensemble skills? We'll work on music theory and ear-training. Is your short term goal to improve your breath control? Or maybe it's to learn to better navigate your passagi so you experience less 'cracking'.

There are several different approaches and we'll find one that best suits you!

A bit about myself:

I am a full lyric tenor who specializes in bel canto singing. Cummulative, I have twelve years of experience performing in professional choral ensembles and in various operatic and musical theater productions. I have been teaching privately in NY and NC for five years. I hold a Bachelor's in Arts in Music from the School of Music, Theater, and Dance at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.

I hope is to inspire my students to allow themselves to explore their voices and their relationship to their bodies. Seeing someone finally have the freedom to be expressive and create art brings me so much joy.

About the lesson

Singing lessons offered by Ryan are tailored to each student's needs and level. Lessons can also be held online. Lessons are also available in New York. The first lesson is free to define learning goals and methodology.
