Our first lesson involves a little "get to know each other" time, so we can learn about each other. I want to make sure we are on the same page! We will introduce some basic breathing excercises and vocal warmups, and discuss what type of music and songs you'd like to work on!

Loved working with Rachel. She is one of the few people to get my voice in that perfect place. She plays piano which is so important when learning audition pieces. And because of her previous work in the casting she knows exactly how to direct you in the right direction.
As someone who has been through many voice teachers throughout my career-
Rachel sets herself apart from other teachers.
First she is an incredible singer herself. Secondly she is extremely knowledgeable about the mechanics of singing (which is key if you want longevity as a singer)
She is by far the best as she tailors her lessons to each persons individual needs.
She has helped me become a stronger and more confident singer. For that I am grateful and would highly recommend Rachel for voice lessons.Rachel is one of the most attuned teachers I’ve ever worked with. She’s worked me back from poor vocal health to unleashing a whole new part of my voice. Her ear and wisdom is so in touch that she can create a unique and tailored roadmap for getting you where you need to go EVERY time. I am so grateful for her guidance and support.
Rachel has a comprehensive and practical approach to voice coaching. Weather I was updating my audition book or preparing for an audition, I was always able to rely on her perspective and musical and theatre knowledge. I was able to apply both her rehearsal techniques and musical interpretation guidance to auditions and performances alike. As a professional Singer/Actress I would highly recommended RCM studios!
Rachel is one of the best coaches I have worked with. She takes the time to listen and always knows exactly what I need to work on. She is the first person that I call to help pick music for an audition or to coach for an audition.
I’ve had several voice teachers through my high school & college years and during my time as a professional performer. Rachel has been the best. I started working with Rachel in my last year of studies at NYU & she helped me find strength, stability & trust in my voice. Rachel is an amazing coach and teacher but above all she is kind & generous, always making you feel good about singing(even on a rough vocal day). She’s a gem in the industry and you’d be lucky to start (or continue) your vocal journey with her.
I had just had vocal surgery when I started working with Rachel and she not only got me singing correctly again, but my voice became stronger than it was before the surgery!! I was able to sing 8 shows a week again in New York with her help. She is also a terrific acting coach. So I felt supported in vocal AND acting technique. She also adapts to the singer. If something isn’t working, she’s willing to try new things until something works for you. It was a great experience!
Working with Rachel is a personalized and comprehensive experience. Not only do you learn proper vocal technique but also how to incorporate the performance element of each song! Working with Rachel finally gave me confidence in my voice.
Rachel Cohen McKenna has been a blessing since I took my first lesson with her. She is so knowledgeable about the industry and has completely revamped my book. Since Covid, Rachel has kept me in shape and confident over zoom. Friends who know my voice inside and out say my belt is effortless and the healthiest it has ever sounded. I would be lost without her!
I am a pop/belter so I enjoy working with a strong singer like Rachel who completely understands the mechanics of my style.
Once she got me passed some bad habits I had developed from not having a teacher’s guidance for a long while, she also helped me find meaning in the lyrics and purpose in the melodies of the songs I was preparing. So that when I went into an audition room, I was able to convey more than just beautiful notes, but a full well rounded character.
Rachel is terrific! She helped me find new techniques to ease my voice into comfortably singing new styles in a healthy way. She was so encouraging, knowledgeable, and also FUN.
