My name is Erin SuJan, and I am a voice and performing arts teacher born and raised here in Southern California. I began training as a performer at the age of 4. My vocal training started at the age of 8, and I have been singing professionally and just for fun ever since. I am classically trained in Bel Canto technique, and I love to sing Opera, Jazz, Old American Standards, Classic Rock, and some Pop. I spent 4 years in Honolulu, Hawaii performing and teaching voice and acting lessons to children and adults. During my stay there, I established my own studio and also taught for private and non-profit organizations. I also taught Lower Elementary Music in the classroom for 2 years at Waikiki Elementary School (Hawaii Public School System). I pride myself on my ability to produce results while training my students to use their bodies as healthy and well-trained instruments. I use technique and mindful practice to help my students develop their own creative process. The well-being and longevity of my students voices is my top priority.

I teach now because I love it! A voice and performing arts teacher with over 5 years experience, I am also a Marketing and Content Creation Consultant, as well as a working Actor and Model. My schedule is flexible, and I can teach during the day as well as evenings and weekends. I am happy to teach classes of multiple students and/or private lessons.

The thing I love most about teaching is watching my students grow. It's so rewarding for me! Those "aha!" moments when a new technique or method clicks for someone and pushes them to the next level are verything to me!

About the lesson

I always begin with breath. It's the foundation of everything we do as singers and as actors.

Ages 4 and up; professional and amateur singers; children and adults with learning disabilites.

Make sure that your teacher is very protective of her/his students' voices. You want someone who has a holistic perspective and seeks to train thier students as musicians and artists, not just as singers.
