I first crossed paths with Sergey when I was pursuing a degree in classical voice and I was struck by his amazing knowledge about vocal technique and how to transition between singing opera and musical theater in a healthy way. He helped me to pick musical theater repertoire that fit my voice, work on belting in a healthy way, and preparing excerpts and monologues for several auditions. Sergey is so patient and intuitive with all his students, and his calm demeanor always made me feel comfortable and supported. Singing for other people sometimes makes me nervous, but Sergey's studio is a place that I have always felt safe trying new things without worrying that I sound bad or might make a mistake. I ended up going a different way with my career that doesn’t give me much time to sing anymore, but I still sing at home for fun and often come to Sergey for advice. I really appreciate his amazing support and how he always makes me feel confident in my singing.

I really enjoyed feeling like I can sing anything after having a lesson with him. I’m on the way anxious and stressed thinking it won’t be a good lesson but once I step through that door, he makes it all go away. I appreciate how I never feel intimidated but always comfortable to sing and make all the choices while learning.
