About Nicole

Highly experinced since I have worked for four years as a Spanish tutor at Liberty University while I obtained my Bachelors in International Relations with two minors in Global Studies, Spanish, and Government. One of the things that make my service stand out is that I have the advantagement of having a global experience. I have been a tutor in Ecuador as well as in the United States. Being a native speaker, I know about the Hispanic culture as well as understand the American culture.

One of the things that I love about my job is that I get to see each of my students advance at their own pace in the language acquisition both verbally and written. Additionally, I also like that am able ot work one-on-one with students.

My goal is to guide students in their process of learning a foreign language and for them to apply Spanish into their daily life and career.

Tutoring became my passion from the age of 16 when I volunteered to help missionaries at my church learn Spanish.

Then when I moved to New Jersey I was able to teach TESOL to people of different ages.

Finally I became an official Spanish tutor where I worked in the Language Department at Liberty Univeristy.

- Spanish tutor to missionaries that lived in my home country Ecuador.

- TESOL tutor in Teaneck Public Library: teaching foreigners English.

- Spanish tutor at Liberty University for four years.

About the lesson

I like to work one-on-one with a student and from the first appointment address in what areas the individual wants to work in. In the first tutoring, I evaluate the student to see in what levelthe individual is. I do this through small verbal an grammar quizzes. Then I create a plan to see what parts of Spanish we need to reinforce or teach.

For each appointment I follow a Spanish grammar book, create activities that follows the lesson of that day, play games with the student to enhace their learning like talking actvities.

I have worked with high school and college students. Additionally while I was a TESOL tutor I also taught elderly women.

Find a native speaker because they will have an accurate knowledge of the language and the culture.

Have fun while learning Spanish because knowing the grammar is not the only essential thing, but knowing how to speak appropriately.

You can find Spanish tutors everywhere, but the key factor is for the tutor to establish a relationship with the student.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Why are you learning Spanish? Are you doing it to pass a class or because you want to learn more about the Hispanic culture? In order to suceed in a language you need to have passion for it.
