About Veni

Experienced Spanish & English bilingual teacher. I offer my expertise in Spanish teaching for over 8 years at the high school level. My goal is to develop proficiency of the four language skills for learners as well as developing an understanding of culture. I come from a Spanish speaking country and feel it is crucial to develop such understanding to enhance communication between a learner and a native or locals. I make use of technology and a variety of resources to enhance lessons and to prepare students for world we live in.

I am a certified (elementary- high school) Spanish teacher in NJ.

I enjoy helping learners improve their language skills and feel more confident in their skills. I look forward to interacting in real life situations and seeing students succeed.

I always knew I wanted to become a teacher and upon moving the U.S.A. I followed my dream.

About the lesson

I immediately want to learn about them to become familiar with them as well as learn their interests. These are important to establish a good rapport with them and provide the right welcoming atmosphere. I also like to learn about their goals. I then introduce the themes we will be developing to enable him/her to achieve those goals.

I have worked with monolingual students as well as students who have a Spanish background.

Look for someone who is understanding and genuinely cares for your progress. Look for passion and experience, they are both powerful tools that will motivate you as a student in their class and push you to become your best as you follow the path of becoming a bilingual or polyglot.

Receiving a student who was having difficulty expressing ideas in written form and verbally and observing the progress they made. The student did not wish to participate actively because they were unsure of the abilities in the language and after a few weeks seeing how they began to feel more comfident. They began to participate more and even expressed that the continued practices in class have allowed them to see their own progress and made them lose the fear of speaking in the Target Language.
