About Ingrid
I patiently work one on one with people so they can learn to swim, bike and/or run better. I am a Total Immersion Freestlye coach and certified USA Triathlon Coach. I teach adults of all ages, especially those that are fearful or initmidated about learning something new.
I teach swimming in Irvine, at the Waterworks Aquatics pool as a contractor so you have to contact me directly if you want lessons from me. I also teach open water swimming in the lagoon and the Newport Dunes. I teach running and Cycling at Harvard Athletic Park in Irvine.
I have completed 7 Full Ironman Distance Races and countless shorter ones. I have a team in Irvine and have been coaching and racing for 12 years. I am an Ironman Silver level All World Athlete and most of my clients are over 40 years of age. I am in my 50's.
I have written 4 books on Triathlon Related Topics including: "Ironplanner:Iron Distance Organizer for Triathletes (Meyer and Meyer 2009), "Fearless Swimming for Triathletes ( Meyer and Meyer 2011), "Weight Management for Triathletes (Meyer and Meyer, second edition 2016) and Functional Strength for Triathletes (Meyer and Meyer 2012).

I loved teaching when I used to be a lawyer. I developed and taught a do it yourself bankruptcy class for The Legal Aid Society of Orange County. When I retired, I helped many people learn to swim better, and I started teaching Open Water Anxiety Management Classes to new Triathletes. That developed into a full time coaching business in all aspects of triathlon.
I am a Certified USA Triathlon Coach. I am also a certified Total Immersion Swimming Coach, a level 2 Training Peaks Coach and a former ocean lifeguard.
I take ongoing education every year.

I do all my communication before lessons through email. I get some background on your situation and find out more about your goals, then we meet and get started.
I work only with adults--age 18-72. Most of my students are in their 40's and 50's and many are women.
Meet the teacher and see if you get along well, then go from there.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Most important is, what is your goal? Most of my students want to learn how to train and race triathlons, but many just want to learn to swim with greater ease for recreation and fitness. Also, any new skill requires that you practice. If you can't spend some time each week practicing, you won't learn the skill.

Details
All lessons are $100 per hour, $50 for 30 min. I don't charge for chit-chat time before or after the lesson, nor do I charge for travel time.
You can pay me in cash at the end of the lesson.
