About Kelly
Seasons Lane Swimming specializes in private swim lessons to maximize learning efficiency while building confidence and having fun. Every lesson is different and progressive, incorporating safety skills and games for water safety awareness.
Lifeguard and Swim Instructor were my first jobs in highschool. I enjoyed them so much, that I have kept up with the certification trainings to continue offering life saving yet fun services since.
I swam competitvely for 15 years and have been teaching for 21 years. I certified first through the American Red Cross and also have American Heart Association Training so I can offer other classes like AED/CPR, First Aid, Lifeguard, Water Aerobics, and Water Safety.

The first session is always about observation. I need to see what the student can do, hear about experiences and/or fears, and discuss goals. After that, the real fun and learning begins! I tailor my classes to participant (or parent) goals while introducing something new each time.
I have taught deaf and blind people, infants and elderly, as well as ADD/ADHD and Autism. I have found that the joy and passion I have while swimming calms anxiety while I educate and hopefully inspire.
Always make sure your teacher can demonstrate not just teach from the book. I have had instructors tell me how to do something, but were not able to show me. Some people learn through descriptive words while others need visual demonstrations. I show my particpants any skill they want to see before or while we are learning at their bequest.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Don't be shy! Ask the "what if" questions or the "why am I so afraid." Let your teacher understand so s/he can address your concerns and tailor your lessons specifically for you.
