About Craig

It's been a joy to instruct students in their homes as my full time business since 2010, getting to know their families, their dogs, their siblings. I value tutoring SAT and mathematics in particular because they allow me to impact students during their junior and senior years, a crucial time in their academic careers. My first start in teaching was tutoring other students in math and physics in college. The math and science learning center was my first college job. Later, I was a master tutor for the Princeton Review, before starting my own tutoring business in 2010.

Background in engineering and mathematics. Over two decades as a professional tutor in SAT, ACT, LSAT, and mathematics including Calculus.

About the lesson

Most commonly for SAT and ACT, we meet for a first session and discuss best practices and strategy for the test. There are many general items that the majority of students are not considering at the outset of their preparation. I like to cut out wasted time by telling them what they need to know. After this session, the student takes a practice test that we review and analyze for areas of focus going forward. I'll oversee homework that the student works on that targets areas we identify from practice tests or during our sessions. We often go on like this, approaching a planned official test and tracking the student's goals along the way.

My specialization for many years has been test prep (SAT/ACT), so I most commonly work with high school juniors and seniors of all levels and scoring goals. I have extensive experience working with students who require extra time on these exams.

Details

Families may sign up on a per session basis for as many for as few sessions as they are interested or that scheduling permits. I don't require advance packages of sessions. I invoice families directly, and they are able to pay directly via credit card or by cash, venmo, or Zelle.
