About Matthew

My name is Matt Ehlers and I've been playing organized volleyball for over 30 years and coaching since 2008. I began playing while in the Air Force and won a base championship in 1993 at Tinker AFB, OK. I played adult club from 1993 to 1996 at an A level and qualified for Adult Nationals in 1994. I've also participated in beach doubles at an Open level. I still continue to play pick up and several doubles tournaments over the summer mainly in Masters Divisions. In 2008, I began coaching girls club with a 14U team. Since then I've coached all age groups from 14U to 18U and have worked with both boys and girls programs. In 2015, I began working as a private instructor and have worked with all ages from 10 to 45, and all levels of experience from basic beginner to college level athletes. I've also completed several coaching certifications through NFHS and the Art of Coaching including Head Coach Certifications, Beach Coach certification and Sports Performance training certification.

Since the pandemic, I mainly do training sessions outdoors on a grass court I set up thus eliminating the extra facility fees and allows me to keep costs lower. I'm generally available from early May until about mid October with the majority of my clients training for their high school and club tryouts. I currently use locations in Horsham, PA, Doylestown, PA and East Norriton, PA so I can usually accommodate most people with a reasonable commute from their location.

While the sessions are held outside, the training itself is geared toward the indoor game for the majority of students. If you are looking to work on your outdoor doubles game, I can cater my training toward that as well.

About the lesson

Volleyball lessons offered by Matthew are tailored to each student's needs and level. Lessons can also be held online. Lessons are also available in Warrington. The first lesson is free to define learning goals and methodology.
