About Makiko
Delightful Yoga specializes in gentle yoga, engaging students in a nurturing, slow-paced practice to support their overall health and well-being. Each class is taught with a variety of props, such as blankets, blocks, bolsters and straps. Poses are modified to be accessible to most people. We offer great classes especially for those new to yoga or just getting back into practice after a long break. Instruction is given on basic poses, alignment and body awareness.
Makiko is a registered yoga teacher with Yoga Alliance (RYT200) and has been practicing Yoga since 2000. Yoga has been an integral part of Makiko's life, allowing her to stay centered and overcome many challenges in her life both personally and professionally. Her personal experience with scoliosis has made her keenly aware of the importance of honoring one's body. In her classes, she takes the time to understand the unique condition of each student and help them to modify their poses to achieve maximum benefit. She sincerely hopes to share with the community the many benefit of yoga through her teaching.
