About Cecily
My passion for chemistry began with a fascination for molecular structures and the transformative power of reactions. This passion guided me to pursue a Master’s Degree in Organic and Analytical Chemistry, where I studied both theoretical principles and laboratory applications. Over the past eleven years, I have dedicated myself to helping students build clarity, confidence, and excitement for the subject. Watching learners progress from confusion to mastery has been the most rewarding part of my career. I adopt a teaching style that balances structure, creativity, and encouragement. I focus on fostering curiosity while building analytical and practical skills. Every student receives personalized guidance, ensuring concepts are fully understood before moving to more advanced topics. I view mistakes as valuable learning opportunities and encourage students to approach problems methodically and thoughtfully. Outside of teaching, I continue to engage in laboratory research, explore scientific publications, and participate in workshops to stay current. These experiences enrich my lessons and allow me to integrate modern chemistry concepts into teaching. Chemistry is more than a subject—it is a lens through which we understand the material world, and sharing that perspective with students is my lifelong passion.

Chemistry is the study of matter, its structure, properties, and transformations. My lessons are designed to make this complex subject approachable, engaging, and relevant to everyday life. I emphasize conceptual understanding and application, ensuring students see how theoretical principles underpin real-world phenomena. Through demonstrations, experiments, and guided problem-solving, learners explore molecular interactions, chemical reactions, and the behavior of substances under varying conditions. I create a classroom atmosphere where curiosity, questioning, and experimentation are encouraged, allowing students to feel confident and motivated to discover and understand the world around them.
Beginners learn foundational concepts such as atomic structure, chemical bonding, the periodic table, and basic reaction types. Intermediate students study reaction kinetics, acids and bases, stoichiometry, and energy changes. Advanced learners explore organic chemistry, electrochemistry, thermodynamics, and analytical techniques. I incorporate lab experiments, visual diagrams, and case studies to solidify understanding. Lessons are structured to progressively challenge students while providing supportive guidance, fostering both competence and curiosity.
As students advance, they develop critical thinking, attention to detail, and the ability to analyze complex systems. Chemistry lessons cultivate intellectual curiosity, problem-solving skills, and scientific reasoning. Learners gain confidence to approach experiments independently, interpret data accurately, and connect theoretical knowledge with real-world observations.
