About Amber

My love for English literature began in primary school, where I first discovered the power of storytelling and poetry. This passion only grew stronger, leading me to be published in two books with my poems during my education years. Inspired by my deep appreciation for literature, I pursued English Literature at A-Level and have continued to explore the beauty of language ever since. As a qualified tutor with a Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training (DET), a BSc in Sociology, and strong English Literature qualifications, I am dedicated to helping students develop their analytical, writing, and comprehension skills in a way that is both engaging and effective. My teaching approach is student-focused, supportive, and tailored to suit individual learning styles. Whether you need guidance with essay writing, literary analysis, exam preparation, or general literacy skills, I create structured yet dynamic lessons that build confidence and encourage critical thinking. I work with GCSE & A-Level students, university learners, and adults looking to strengthen their English skills. My goal is to inspire a love for literature and language while ensuring that my students achieve their academic and personal learning objectives. My Approach to Tutoring & Teaching Methodology As a dedicated English tutor with a Level 5 DET, BSc in Sociology, and English Literature GCSE & A-Level, I tailor my lessons to suit each student's needs, ensuring an engaging and supportive learning environment. I use a mix of structured lessons, interactive discussions, and creative exercises to help students develop a deep understanding of literature, poetry, and literacy skills. Lesson Structure & Typical Length Each lesson is typically 60 minutes long, but I can adapt the length based on the student's requirements. My sessions include: Clear learning objectives to track progress. Close reading and analysis of texts to develop critical thinking skills. Essay writing support, including structuring arguments and improving writing techniques. Interactive discussions to build confidence and comprehension. Tailored activities to strengthen literacy and language skills. Who My Lessons Are For: I tutor students of various levels, including: GCSE & A-Level students who need support with English Literature and Poetry.
