About Hugo
I have spent eight years empowering more than 260 students to master Excel as a powerful tool for business analysis and decision-making. My background includes a degree in finance and accounting and extensive professional experience as a financial analyst and business intelligence consultant, where I built complex models and automated reporting systems for major corporations. I have worked in investment banking, corporate finance, and consulting, giving me a deep understanding of how Excel is used in real business contexts. My students have advanced in finance careers, improved business efficiency through automation, and developed the analytical skills that distinguish top performers. I am particularly skilled at helping non-technical professionals develop advanced Excel skills and at making complex functions accessible through clear, practical examples. I design custom exercises based on real business scenarios and maintain an extensive library of templates and practice datasets. Outside of teaching, I consult on business process automation, develop Excel-based business tools, and enjoy analyzing financial markets. I believe that Excel proficiency is one of the most valuable skills in the modern workplace, and I am committed to helping every student unlock its full potential.

My Excel teaching is practical and business-focused designed to transform students from basic spreadsheet users into confident data analysts and business problem solvers. I begin every course with an assessment of the student's current Excel proficiency and specific business needs before designing a targeted curriculum. Data analysis is taught through the systematic use of pivot tables Power Query and advanced filtering techniques that enable students to extract insights from large datasets efficiently. Financial modeling is taught through the construction of real business models including budgets forecasts and valuation models with emphasis on best practices in model design and error prevention. Business automation is explored through the use of macros VBA scripting and Power Automate to streamline repetitive tasks and improve productivity. I emphasize the development of logical thinking teaching students to break business problems into structured spreadsheet solutions. Every lesson includes hands-on practice with real business datasets and scenarios. For certification preparation I provide comprehensive coverage of Microsoft Excel Specialist and Expert examination requirements. I also teach data visualization principles including chart design and dashboard creation for effective business communication.
