About Sela
I am an enthusiastic piano tutor with 19 years of professional experience and a record of teaching around 300 students. My learners include teenagers, college students, and adults pursuing personal growth, performance goals, or exam preparation.
My philosophy is to combine strong technical foundations with musical expression. I emphasise posture, hand coordination, finger strength, rhythm, scales, and sight-reading. I also incorporate music theory into lessons so students understand harmony, chord structure, and musical form.
Lessons are balanced between technical exercises, repertoire practice, and theory application. Beginners build confidence through simple pieces and exercises, while advanced students refine interpretation, performance skills, and complex compositions. Many students have achieved excellent results in examinations and performed confidently in public recitals.
My mission is to guide students to become confident, expressive, and independent pianists who enjoy their musical journey for years to come.

My approach to teaching piano combines strong communication, creative learning, flexibility, and structured progress. Piano requires discipline and patience, so I guide students step by step in building technique and musical understanding. I clearly demonstrate scales, chords, coordination exercises, and rhythm practice.
Communication ensures students fully understand what they are practising and how to improve. Creativity encourages students to explore musical interpretation and emotional expression. I include small improvisation tasks and style exploration to make lessons meaningful.
Flexibility allows me to personalise lessons based on each student’s learning style and goals. Along with piano performance, I teach music theory, harmony studies, and ear development to strengthen overall musicianship. My aim is to create independent learners who enjoy playing with confidence.
