About Lettie
Over the last 17+ years, I have had the privilege of teaching Spanish to High School and College students who want to improve their language skills and achieve their academic goals. I believe that every student has the ability to succeed when they receive the right guidance and encouragement. My teaching philosophy is centered on personalized learning, where every lesson is carefully planned to match each student's learning style, strengths, and objectives. This individual approach helps students stay motivated while making steady progress.
My lessons cover grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, reading, writing, listening, speaking, and conversational Spanish. I use simple explanations, practical examples, interactive activities, and real-life conversations to make learning interesting and effective. Instead of asking students to memorize information, I encourage them to understand the language and apply it naturally in different situations.
One of my unique skills is creating a positive and supportive classroom where students feel confident expressing themselves. I encourage questions, welcome mistakes as learning opportunities, and provide regular feedback that helps students improve with every lesson. I also adjust my teaching methods whenever necessary so that every learner continues progressing at a comfortable pace.
I believe learning Spanish should include understanding the culture behind the language. My lessons introduce students to traditions, customs, everyday expressions, and cultural experiences that make the language more meaningful. My commitment to personalized learning allows me to support students with different goals, whether they are preparing for exams, improving grades, or developing practical communication skills. My mission is to help every learner become a confident and independent Spanish speaker.

My teaching methodology for Spanish is based on motivation, communication, creativity, and time management to ensure students learn effectively and confidently. I motivate students by creating a positive, supportive environment, setting achievable goals, and celebrating their progress to build confidence.
Communication is at the heart of my approach; I provide students with opportunities to practice speaking, listening, reading, and writing in practical contexts to make learning meaningful. Creativity is incorporated through interactive exercises, storytelling, role-plays, games, and visual aids, which make lessons engaging and memorable.
Time management ensures that each lesson covers grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, and conversational skills in a structured and balanced way. I also teach students how to organize their own study and practice routines outside class. In addition to Spanish, I can teach related subjects like grammar fundamentals, pronunciation, and language learning strategies. My goal is to provide a structured, enjoyable, and effective learning experience that helps students gain fluency and confidence in Spanish.
