About Patricia

I am a 25 year old PhD candidate at Swinburne University of Technology. Before this, I have completed a Master's degree in Theoretical Physics (which also involved a lot of Maths) and two bachelor degrees: one in Applied Mathematics and one in Applied Physics. I received all of my degrees from prestigious universities in The Netherlands (Delft and Leiden). I grew up in Romania, where I participated at National Olympiads in both high school Physics (for which I won third prize) and Maths.

I have 2 years of experience tutoring VCE Methods, VCE Specialist, and VCE Physics. I also have 6 years of experience tutoring and lecturing in University-level Maths and Physics classes such as Mechanics, Calculus, Statistics, Optics, Thermodynamics, General Relativity.

About the lesson

Lessons both in-person and online, depending on your preference.
I teach all levels (years 1 to 12), Maths (any), Physics, including VCE prep and also university Physics and Maths. I tailor the lessons to every student's needs.

In general, during my lesson, I take the time to understand what you are struggling with. Then I usually explain the concept using an intuitive example and then dive more into the theory behind it all. Once that is fixed, we move on to more practice exercises and focus on harder related concepts as well.

I have intensively and received tutoring myself in Maths and Physics for more than 17 years. Through both my experience as a teacher and tutor, as well as a tuttee, I have been able to pick up the best ideas/approaches from every teacher and student I have had. I can therefore offer very handy tips and tricks, on top of a very unique point of view, that can only be obtained through years of experience. I can also offer interdisciplinary context.

I think it is very important, especially in Maths and in Science, to see how the topics relate to one another and to make connections across the entirety of the material.

My goal is for you to become confident, independent, and eventually not need me anymore
