About Mimi

Struggling to make sense of A-Level Psychology? I help students turn confusing theories into clear understanding — and turn that understanding into exam marks.

In my tutoring sessions, students learn how to:

- Understand and compare psychological studies and approaches
- Write clear, structured essays under exam conditions specifically for Evaluation and Design Questions

My goal is not just to help students revise, but to help them think like examiners and approach A-Level Psychology with confidence.

About the lesson

I offer specialised A-Level Psychology tutoring with 6 years of experience teaching Psychology at pre-university level.

For AS Level, I specialise in Clinical, Organisational, and Health Psychology, helping students build a strong understanding of the theories, studies, and debates required by the syllabus — while also learning how to apply that knowledge effectively in exams.

My lessons are structured around both understanding and exam performance. I typically:

* Explain complex psychological concepts in a clear and manageable way
* Use active recall to help students retain what they have learned
* Introduce past-paper questions alongside content, rather than leaving exam practice until the end
* Teach students how to approach different command words and structure their answers effectively
* Focus on evaluation and application, which are essential for achieving higher marks

I have also completed Cambridge training for A-Level Psychology, which has helped me develop a clearer understanding of the marking process and what examiners are looking for in students' responses.

My students' May/June 2025 results reflect this approach. 66.7% of my AS students achieved an A, and all of these A grades were 89% or above. At A2, 50% of my students achieved an A.

Each lesson is typically 1–1.5 hours, balancing content, active recall, and exam practice. My aim is not simply to help students memorise Psychology, but to help them understand the subject, apply their knowledge confidently, and become better at answering exam questions.

Teacher Mimi is an amazing psychology teacher. I like how teacher Mimi gives the tuition based on your needs/ priority. Throughout the lesson, after learning the topic we would do topical past year question. I think this is good as i get to expose to topical questions bit by bit rather than the whole paper. And thank you teacher Mimi for explaining the same thing over and over again so patiently until i understand.

A very patient and kind teacher Teacher Mimi is. She prepared slides and practices for every lessons. Whenever I forgot a topic or need further explanation on one topic, she would explain it again using diagrams, different colour of pens to show it to me
