About Jayant
As a computer engineering student at the University of British Columbia and a tutor with real-world industry experience, I am well-equipped to help you succeed in your studies. As a tutor, my approach is centered around helping my students understand and retain the material. I believe that the key to effective learning is to first understand the underlying concepts and then practice applying those concepts through exercises and problem-solving. To achieve this, I use a variety of teaching techniques including lectures, examples, and hands-on exercises to ensure that my students have a well-rounded understanding of the subject matter.
A typical lesson plan with me would begin with a review of the previous lesson to ensure that all of the necessary foundations have been laid. From there, I would introduce the new material, breaking it down into manageable chunks and explaining the concepts in a way that is easy to understand. After introducing the material, I would then give my students the opportunity to work through exercises and problems on their own to practice applying the concepts that we have learned. Throughout the lesson, I am always available to answer questions and provide guidance as needed.
One of the things that sets me apart as a tutor is my real-world industry experience. In addition to my studies in computer engineering at the University of British Columbia, I have also gained practical experience through internships and co-op positions at companies such as TD Bank and Royal Bank of Canada. This industry experience has given me a unique perspective on the material and has allowed me to provide my students with valuable insights and real-world examples.
My lessons are suitable for students of all levels, from those just starting out in computer science to advanced students looking to deepen their understanding of a particular subject. I am comfortable teaching a wide range of computer science topics, including programming languages, data structures, algorithms, and computer systems. No matter what your goals or background, I am confident that I can help you achieve success in your studies.
