About Ivy
I am a passionate Maths tutor with over 5 years of teaching experience and an MMath degree. My love for mathematics goes beyond formulae and calculations — I am fascinated by the history of mathematics and how mathematical thought has evolved over time. I explore how ancient civilisations, from the Babylonians to the Greeks, shaped the foundations of mathematics. I enjoy sharing stories about famous theorems and the journeys that led to their discoveries. For me, mathematics is not just about solving problems. This helps students gain familiarity with exam formats and question patterns. I also incorporate strategies for high scores, ensuring a well-rounded preparation. Lessons blend theory with practical examples, making learning easier and more meaningful. I aim to make each session interactive, helping students build deep understanding and confidence. My approach supports students in mastering concepts and applying them under exam conditions. With thorough preparation and strategy, students can approach test day with confidence and clarity. The goal is not just to learn maths, but to excel in it.
