About Freya
I am a passionate Math tutor with over 5 years of experience and an MMath degree. My love for mathematics goes beyond formulas and calculations. I am fascinated by the history of mathematics and the evolution of mathematical thought across time. I explore how ancient civilizations contributed to the ideas we now take for granted. From the Babylonians’ early number systems to the breakthroughs of Greek, Indian, and Islamic mathematicians, I enjoy uncovering the stories behind the numbers. I delve into the origins of famous theorems and the brilliant minds who discovered them. Sharing these stories with students helps them appreciate math as a living, evolving discipline. I guide learners to see connections between historical context and modern mathematical concepts. Lessons become more than problem-solving—they become a journey through human curiosity and intellect. I encourage students to question, explore, and reflect on how ideas developed over centuries. Together, we discover how cultural, scientific, and philosophical influences shaped mathematics. My teaching approach to Math focuses on making abstract concepts clear and relevant to real-life and digital applications. I integrate topics like coding logic, algorithmic thinking, discrete mathematics for computer science, and computational processes to show students how math shapes technology. Lessons are relaxed and application-focused, using programming analogies to make ideas easier to understand. I encourage curiosity and critical thinking, helping students see patterns, structures, and logic in every problem. I support students in approaching complex problems confidently, guiding them step by step without rushing. By connecting math to coding and algorithms, I show how theory translates into practice. I emphasize proof-based reasoning and structured thinking, which strengthens problem-solving skills and logical communication. Students learn to express computational ideas naturally and comfortably, building both knowledge and confidence. Assignments and exercises are tailored to challenge yet inspire, encouraging exploration and persistence. I celebrate small victories and growth, helping students stay motivated and engaged. With my guidance, students can excel in exams, projects, and beyond. Together, we make math an integral part of their digital and analytical life.
