About Saisha

Hi, I'm Saisha.

I'm a piano teacher and musician with a particular interest in helping students become more confident, independent learners. Over the years, I've worked with students of different ages and experience levels, and one challenge I see again and again is that many capable musicians feel overwhelmed when faced with unfamiliar sheet music.

My teaching style is practical, encouraging, and focused on understanding rather than memorization. I enjoy breaking and organizing complex musical concepts and material into simple, manageable steps so that students can build confidence and make consistent progress without feeling overwhelmed.

What excites me most as a teacher is helping students develop the tools to think for themselves. Whether we're working on sight-reading, technique, musicianship, or repertoire, my goal is always the same: My goal is always the same: to help students become more fluent, confident, and expressive musicians, while developing the self-trust, patience, and independence that meaningful musical growth brings out in all of us.

I believe the process of learning music should feel engaging, encouraging, and empowering, and I aim to create a supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable making mistakes, asking questions, and exploring new challenges.

Many piano students can play pieces they've practiced, yet feel completely stuck when faced with unfamiliar sheet music. This 12-week program is designed to help pianists become more confident, fluent, and independent readers.

Here, we focus on developing reading fluency through strategies like:
- pattern recognition
- rhythm training
- interval awareness
- melodic contour
and more such practical sight-reading strategies.

Instead of reading music one note at a time, students learn to recognize shapes, patterns, and musical structures, making the process of reading feel faster, easier, and much more enjoyable.

Classes are interactive, practical, and designed to make reading music feel less overwhelming and more intuitive. Each session is centered around a specific skill or challenge commonly encountered in sight-reading and provides students with clear tools and strategies that can be immediately applied to their own playing. Sessions include guided sight-reading practice, allowing students to put concepts into action and build confidence in real time.

By the end of the 12 weeks, students will have a clear framework for approaching new music, understand how to organize and interpret musical information on the page more efficiently, and feel significantly more confident tackling unfamiliar pieces independently.

The goal of this program is to help you become a more confident and independent musician who can sit down with new sheet music and actually enjoy the process of learning it without feeling stuck or mentally overwhelmed.

Suitable for late beginners, intermediate pianists, adult learners, and students preparing for piano exams who want to strengthen their reading skills and spend less time decoding notes and more time making music.
