About Rodrigo
Hello, my name is Rodrigo Ribeiro and I am a FIDE Master with extensive experience competing at both national and international levels. Having represented Portugal in over 20 international competitions and earned multiple national titles, I bring a strong competitive background to my coaching.
I started giving lessons in 2024, when I received my trainer certification and, since then, I have taught on and off. That being said, I am now looking for a more consistent workflow.
I have experience working with young students, promoting structured learning and discipline. That being said my main focus remains on promoting enjoyment of the game, since I believe enjoying the game should always be the number one priority.
I consider myself patient and engaging, and I am available for online coaching in a work-from-home setup to players of all levels and ages who are looking to improve.

I am a big supporter of the Botvinnik method for both learning and teaching chess, so the first lessons will likely be dedicated to analyzing your games (if you don't have many classical games, don't worry; this is just so that I can get an idea of your level and playstyle).
After that, I will focus on helping you train and improve the weak points in your game, but I will always cycle through different topics so as not to leave any of them neglected (endgames, openings, tactics, middlegame concepts, etc.).
