About Chiraz
I have been a figure skater for 11 years and was competitive for 8 years. I have 5 years of experience teaching group lessons and 1 year of experience coaching private students. In my 11 years of skating I have competed solo, competed as a member of a synchronized skating team, performed in ice shows, and have taken and passed my pre-preliminary, preliminary, pre-juvenile, juvenile, and intermediate moves in the field tests. I have also passed my pre-preliminary, preliminary, and pre-juvenile free skate tests. The synchronized skating team I was on won first place at 2018 ISI nationals, and second place at the 2019 Sectionals. I have also been awarded a graduating seniors award by the United States Figure Skating Association in 2019.

I take a very involved and hands-on approach to my teaching. I both demonstrate specific skills myself and help position my students to help them figure out the skills they are learning. I use a lot of props to assist my (especially younger) students, including hula hoops, cones, and stuffed animals, and enjoy creating games for my students to play to help them both perfect their skating skills and encourage them to have fun on the ice! My number 1 priority is to ensure that my students are enjoying the sport, and as a coach I do everything I can to make skating as fun as possible. I also take great care to really try to get to know the students I am teaching and their unique method of learning so that I can best serve them and help them grow their repertoire of skating skills. In addition to teaching on-ice lessons, I also teach off-ice strengthening and conditioning classes for both older and younger skating students.
