About Charles
I am a film composer, pianist and music educator with a BA (Hons.) in Western Music, specializing in piano. My professional work in composition shapes the way I teach: students learn not only how to play notes, but how rhythm, harmony, expression and musical storytelling work together.
I offer a focused, personal learning experience for children, teenagers and adults. Whether you are beginning from scratch, returning to the piano, preparing for examinations or exploring composition, I will help you develop strong technique, musical understanding and the confidence to express yourself independently.

Every student receives a personalised learning pathway based on their level, goals and musical interests. Lessons combine piano technique, sight-reading, rhythm, ear training, music theory and expressive performance.
A typical class includes:
• technique and warm-up work
• review of current repertoire
• focused improvement of one musical skill
• theory, harmony or ear-training exercises
• clear practice goals for the following week
Students interested in composition can also explore harmony, arranging, melody writing and musical storytelling. I teach complete beginners, hobbyists, examination candidates and serious learners who want to understand music deeply rather than simply memorise songs.
