About Demi

I am a second-year university student currently doing my degree in Film Production. I have worked on scriptwriting during my A-Levels along with both years at university. I have written many scripts not just for the films I have created but also within the two modules offered to me so far in my course. I also plan on doing scriptwriting in my third year.

I am incredibly passionate about scriptwriting and production. My main reasoning for going to university for the course was to get better at scriptwriting as I have always had a passion for it. I wish to spread my passion to other writers and students so that they too can look at a piece of work they have created and be proud of it. Not every script gets turned into a film unfortunately, but the better you get and the more experience you get in writing scripts for film the more you will stand out.
If you are planning/attending higher education for film production/scriptwriting getting a head start in the right direction is never a bad idea and I wish to help as many people as I can with that. If you are looking for this for higher education or it is a hobby you wish to be more refined in I believe that I can help you in doing so.

About the lesson

To start the Scriptwriting lessons off I would talk about character breakdowns, premises (themes), genres (and how to write for certain genres), etc. From there we will develop an idea that the student creates using the prompts mentioned earlier.
After the student has the outline of characters and story we will begin to learn how to format a script (using scriptwriting software if they please).
After they have completed a first draft of the script I will read through and give personalised feedback to the student. We will continue this process until the script is at a high standard.
If the student wishes to continue lessons with me after the first script I will aid them in creating another script using the same process until they are comfortable.

For the Production lessons I will talk the student through the basics of pre-production documents and their importance.
After the student has a good grasp on these documents, and wishes to proceed I will teach them the different variables of filming on a set. These can vary from; aspect ratio, lens types, aperture (how much light is let into the lens), different lighting techniques, etc.

Students may choose if they would like me to teach one or both of the subjects to them. However, if they wish for both I will be doing them one after the other.
