About Jemma

I am a current final year university student and I completed my A-Levels in Maths, Physics, Economics and Further Maths achieving 4 high A*s and an A* in EPQ.

Last year I taught Economics in a local school and undertook a teaching module at university giving me strong understanding of educational pedagogies as well as genuine classroom experience. I have volunteered previously at a local SEND school where it was vital to adapt the teaching to the student's needs and goals. Working as an assistant teacher for two summers built my professional experience and confidence.

About the lesson

Happy to tailor the length of the lesson to the student and will adapt teaching approaches also so that the student feels best supported and most aids their learning journey. I adopt a patient and encouraging approach and believe that any student can grasp subject material, feel confident and perform well with the right support. Particularly want to help students with understanding concepts and preparing for exams as the mark schemes for such standardised exams are often very specific.

Offer Maths, Physics, Economics and Further Maths A-Level tutoring and GCSE tutoring in these in addition to English.

For students:
I vividly remember how overwhelming all the content was and the pressure leading up to exams, so I hope to bring this perspective to our lessons. I really struggled to ask questions at school (I am pretty sure I never even asked one because I was too afraid) but there is absolutely nothing wrong with it! I really encourage questions and want to create a supportive environment in my lessons where you feel comfortable to do so. I will also make sure you fully understand any material we cover so that you build confidence in the subject over time. As hard as a subject seems, I really believe with 1-1 teaching it will soon all make sense!
