About Carla
I am in the final stages of completing my Bachelors of Music (with Honns) degree at the University of Pretoria, specializing in Piano Performance. I have experience in Research, Chamber music, Music Theory and Piano Performance specifically. Apart from a formal degree, I also have practical experience in my relevant subject. I have tutored piano and music theory individually and enjoyed seeing the results. Violin is my second instrument and I also included this in my degree.

I believe in cultivating a love for music above all else. I try to engage and interest the student in the subject at hand, motivating them to do their very best. My teaching methods are centered around guiding each individual student to apply content practically and explaining the bigger context of each topic. My lessons usually start with what they need help with (or what is the next step after encountering what they already know) and I then explain a number of concepts to help them apply it practically until they feel that they can apply it confidently on their own.
