About Mohammed Salah

I am currently a final year student at university studying Finance and Management. Because of my degree, my foundation of basic and complex mathematics is strong, and I am confident in teaching these skills to any student. At GCSE level, simply put there are some students who just cannot wrap their head round maths. Whether you don't enjoy the subject and just need to improve your grade, or you love solving equations but need a helping hand, I can guarantee that I will do my absolute best to tranform you into a maths whizz kid! You'll be surprised how many people struggle with simple mathematics even at university. So eventhough I have no official experience in tutoring students below university level (except my younger siblings haha), I have helped many fellow university students who have been so focused on the higher level mathematical content you find at university, that they have forgotten the simple foundations of math that we all learn at GCSE level.

So, regardless of your ability level, my aim is to build a solid foundation of mathematics within you, which will prove useful to you at this stage of your school career, but also at university level and in your future career.

About the lesson

I give lessons to any student at GCSE level or below, or year 11 and below. The reason I choose to teach this age range is because I believe this is when every student learns the basics of mathematics. If you have nailed the basics, I am certain that A-level and university won't be a problem. The way I see it, GCSE maths has a plethora of topics, everything from trigonometry to probability. However, none of these topics are expanded on, instead every topic is breifly touched upon. From personal experience, I know that once you fully understand algebra, everything else in mathematics feels simpler. Therefore, the first topic I make sure my students are 100% comfortable with is algebra.

If you are wondering about my teaching style and temperament, just know I am NOT excessively strict or pushy. In fact, I am the complete opposite. I do not believe in the old school dictator style teaching, because I have had tutors myself who have tried this method on me without any success. I welcome different methods and opinions, if you think you have found another way to solve the same equation, great! I like to treat my lessons as intellectual conversations, instead of me lecturing you for an hour.
