About Shorty
Some people teach singing by telling you what you’re doing wrong. I prefer to help you discover what you’re already capable of. After decades as a Grammy-nominated performer, award-winning teaching artist, storyteller, recording artist, and coach, I’ve learned that every great voice starts with one simple ingredient: courage. My job is to help you find yours.
Whether you’ve never sung outside the shower or you’ve been performing for years, I’ll meet you where you are and help you grow with practical techniques, honest feedback, plenty of encouragement, and more than a few laughs. Singing should challenge you—but it should also be joyful.
Students tell me they appreciate that I listen first, teach second, and celebrate every breakthrough along the way. I don’t believe in creating copies of famous singers. I believe in helping you become the very best version of your own voice.
After all, there are already enough Adeles, Freddies, and Beyoncés. The world is still waiting for the very first you.

I believe every person has a voice worth discovering. Whether you dream of performing on stage, recording your own music, speaking with greater confidence, or simply singing because it brings you joy, my coaching is designed to help you develop a healthy, expressive, and authentic voice.
As a Grammy-nominated artist, award-winning teaching artist, performer, and voice coach with decades of professional experience, I’ve worked with audiences, students, and artists from many different backgrounds. My lessons combine proven vocal technique with breath work, musicianship, performance skills, storytelling, and confidence-building in a supportive, judgment-free environment.
A typical lesson begins with a conversation about your goals, followed by breathing and vocal warm-ups, exercises to strengthen technique, and work on songs you love. Along the way, we’ll improve pitch, tone, range, rhythm, diction, interpretation, stage presence, and vocal health. Every lesson is personalized because no two voices—and no two people—are the same.
What makes me different is that I don’t simply teach people how to sing. I help them discover their own artistic voice. My coaching draws on my experience as a professional performer, storyteller, pianist, recording artist, and educator. You’ll leave each lesson with practical exercises, greater confidence, and a deeper understanding of your instrument.
My lessons are designed primarily for adults, from complete beginners to experienced singers, including singer-songwriters, actors, speakers, musicians, worship leaders, and anyone who wants to strengthen their voice in a safe, encouraging, and inspiring setting.
My goal is simple: to help you sing with freedom, confidence, and joy while developing skills that will stay with you for a lifetime. And yes—you’ll probably laugh a little along the way. Life is too short not to enjoy making music together.
