About William
A passionate vocal coach, performer, and songwriter with a deep love for music that spans cultures, genres, and generations. I started writing music at the age of twelve and have spent years collaborating with musicians from all walks of life—from soul and jazz artists to folk singers and experimental performers. I grew up surrounded by the timeless sound of Motown, which shaped my early musical identity, and later developed a deep connection with folk music, drawn to its storytelling and emotional depth. My journey has taken me around the world, performing and learning from incredible vocalists and teachers. These experiences taught me to see the voice as not just an instrument, but an evolving expression of who we are. I’ve trained both formally and through personal exploration, always pushing the boundaries of what the voice can do. As a teacher, I aim to help my students find their voice—both technically and emotionally—while building confidence, musicality, and joy in singing. Whether you're a beginner or looking to refine your skills, I’ll meet you where you are and help you grow from there. Let’s unlock the full potential of your voice—together.

Now welcoming new students – all ages and levels! Hi! I’m William Coupland, a trained vocalist with a deep passion for helping others discover and develop their unique voice. With years of experience performing in church choirs – including the incredible opportunity to sing at the Vatican – and a Grade 7 Singing qualification, I bring both classical technique and heartfelt performance to every lesson. I studied Music at the University of Sussex, where I developed a strong foundation in vocal technique, music theory, and performance. What I Offer: Breath control, tone, and pitch development Expanding vocal range safely and effectively Confidence in performance and interpretation Support with exam preparation (ABRSM/Trinity, etc.) Coaching for auditions, church solos, and more Lessons available both in-person and online All ages and levels welcome – from complete beginners to developing singers Flexible scheduling to suit you Let’s work together to grow your voice and confidence!
