About Ryan

I am a recent First-Class Honours graduate in Business Economics from the University of Exeter, with a strong academic background and a genuine passion for education. Throughout my time at university, I tutored students in Economics, and I have also supported GCSE students in both Mathematics and Geography. I am reliable, approachable, and patient, and I take pride in creating a positive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and growing in confidence. As a tutor, I am committed to helping students achieve their potential while building skills that will serve them well beyond the classroom.

About the lesson

As a First-Class Honours Business Economics graduate from the University of Exeter, I combine strong academic knowledge with a supportive, structured teaching style. My method is centred on making lessons clear, approachable, and confidence-building, especially for students who may not have found classroom teaching easy to follow. A typical lesson begins with a short recap to check understanding, followed by a step-by-step explanation of new material. I use real-world examples to bring abstract ideas to life, before guiding students through practice questions and past papers. To support learning outside lessons, I also provide revision timetables, study skills coaching, and exam techniques, all adapted to the student’s needs. What sets me apart is the balance between academic expertise and a genuine passion for helping students grow. Having tutored Economics at university level as well as GCSE Maths and Geography, I understand the challenges at different stages of study. I also bring a personal perspective, having grown up in Zimbabwe, which has given me a deep appreciation for resilience, opportunity, and the value of education. My lessons are designed for GCSE students in Mathematics and Geography, and both GCSE and A-Level students in Economics. Each plan is personalised and flexible, ensuring students receive the support they need to reach their potential—whether that’s improving exam performance, mastering tricky topics, or building stronger study habits.
