About Jack
I am a First-Class Physics graduate from King’s College London, where I began my degree in September 2017 and completed an integrated Master’s in Physics. My academic background has given me a strong foundation in mathematical and scientific problem-solving, as well as the ability to explain difficult ideas clearly and logically.
Alongside this, I have teaching experience working with both GCSE and A Level students across a wide range of abilities. This has helped me develop a flexible and supportive tutoring style, allowing me to adapt lessons to each student’s level, confidence, and goals. My focus is always on building understanding, improving technique, and helping students make steady progress.

Hi, I’m Jack Taylor, a professional Maths tutor offering structured, supportive tuition for students studying GCSE Maths and A Level Maths.
I work with students who want to improve their understanding, build confidence, and perform more strongly in exams. Whether the aim is to secure a pass, move up a grade boundary, or push for top marks, my approach is tailored to the individual student and focused on steady, measurable progress.
How I tutor:
My lessons are designed to be calm, clear and purposeful. I break difficult topics into manageable steps, explain methods in a straightforward way, and make sure students understand both how to solve a problem and why the method works.
Sessions typically include:
* recap of previous learning and any problem areas
* worked examples and guided practice
* exam-style questions
* help with weak topics, homework, or revision planning
* short review at the end with clear next steps
I place a strong emphasis on:
* confidence with fundamentals
* accurate working and exam method
* reducing avoidable mistakes
* helping students become more independent over time
My teaching style:
Many students struggle not because they are incapable, but because they lack clarity, confidence, structure, or the right support. Good tutoring should not just provide answers - it should help students think more clearly, approach questions with confidence, and improve the way they study.
I aim to be a steady, encouraging guide who helps students make real progress without unnecessary pressure.
My background:
I hold a First-Class Master’s degree in Physics from a Russell Group university and have several years of tutoring experience, both online and in educational settings. My academic background gives me a strong foundation in mathematical thinking, and I am used to explaining technical ideas in a clear and approachable way.
Subjects:
* GCSE Maths
* A Level Maths
Who I teach:
I work with students across a range of ability levels, from those needing to strengthen the basics to those aiming for high grades. Lessons are adapted to the student’s current level, goals, and pace.
Lesson format:
* £50 per hour
* Online lessons
* One-to-one tuition
* Individualised support and lesson planning
First meeting:
In the first session, I usually aim to understand:
* the student’s current level
* which topics are causing difficulty
* their target grade
* how we can structure lessons most effectively going forward
If you are a parent looking for support for your child, I am very happy to discuss their goals and how I can help.
Payment and cancellation:
* Lessons are £50 per hour
* Payment is requested within 24 hours of the lesson
* At least 24 hours’ notice is required for cancellation
* Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice may be charged in full
If you are looking for a tutor who is clear, reliable, and genuinely invested in helping students improve in Maths, I’d be very happy to hear from you.

I cannot recommend Jack more! He is extremely knowledgeable, efficient, and caring. He is great at explaining and teaching the material in an organized and easy manner. Go to Jack for your tutoring needs!
Jack has a knack for really connecting with his students, as well as making the complexity of mathematics understandable and clear. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending Jack as a tutor for any student or parent wanting support with studies.
Jack is a patient and inspiring tutor. I was working at a grade C in Mathematics because of bad study habits I'd learnt at GCSE. Through only a couple of hours of sessions per week, I managed to get that to an A! Thanks Jack!
Fantastic tutor - driven, inspiring and a real credit to his discipline. His approachable demeanour sponsors a non-judgemental environment where questions can flow, and progress can be made. He taught our daughter mathematics at A level. When we recruited him, she was working at a grade C. With Jack's help, she got up to a grade A and got into a Russel Group uni as a consequence. Worth every penny if you ask me.
