About Marisa
I’m a friendly, supportive and patient tutor who genuinely cares about helping students feel confident in English. I understand that everyone learns differently, so I always take the time to adapt my teaching style to suit each student’s needs and pace.
With over 4 years of tutoring experience, I’ve worked with a wide range of students from Year 6 to GCSE, helping them improve not only their grades but also their confidence in reading, writing and analysis. I’m familiar with all major exam boards, and I focus on giving clear, practical guidance that students can actually apply in exams.
As a Law student predicted a First-Class degree, I bring strong analytical skills and structured thinking into my teaching, helping students develop high-level answers and clear argumentation.
I pride myself on being reliable, organised and approachable, creating a positive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making progress without pressure. I also provide regular feedback and support outside of lessons, so students always know how to improve.
My goal is not just to help students achieve better grades, but to help them feel confident, capable and prepared going into their exams.

I offer tailored English lessons designed to help students build confidence and achieve top grades, whether they are preparing for GCSEs or developing core skills at earlier levels.
My teaching approach is structured, engaging, and fully personalised. I focus on breaking down complex ideas into clear, manageable steps, helping students understand not just what to write, but how to think critically and analyse effectively. Lessons include guided practice, model answers, exam technique, and targeted feedback, so students can see clear progress over time. I also provide homework and detailed feedback between sessions to reinforce learning and ensure continuous improvement.
I typically offer 1 to 2 hour lessons, depending on the student’s needs and goals. This allows enough time to cover content in depth while also practising key skills such as essay writing, language analysis, and exam timing.
I am currently studying Law at university, predicted a First-Class degree, and have over 4 years of tutoring experience, working with students from Year 6 through to GCSE (Year 11). I am familiar with all major exam boards, and tailor my lessons to match the specific requirements of each.
My lessons are ideal for students who want to:
