About Tom
For my A-Levels, I achieve A*, A, A in chemistry, biology and Geography. I achieved a first-class Masters in Chemistry at the University of Bath in 2022, including a study year abroad at Freie Universitat Berlin. During this time, I completed research stays in the fields of organic, polymer and biophysical chemistry. I then went on to complete a further Masters degree with a fellowship in Nanoscience and Nanotechnology at Universitat de Barcelona. For my thesis, I focussed more on the biomedical side of research and acquired new knowledge and skills in cell culture and microscope imaging. I will continue soon with my studies in Barcelona beginning a PhD. I would describe myself as a sociable, easy-going and patient individual with a real passion for science! - something I hope through these lessons I can share.

As a tutor, I will remain flexible and adapt to the individual needs and interests of the student, planning the lessons accordingly. I am happy to introduce entirely new concepts, go over problematic areas for the student , as well as go through past papers. I have always really enjoyed teaching and believe I am effectively able to communicate complex ideas in a more digestible manner. I will design questions and even full practise papers for students.
During my own studies, I tutored chemistry for A-Level students and at University had the opportunity to further supervise two bachelor students during their theses. Each lesson will be between 1 and 2 hours, where additionally I would like to offer advise based on my own study experience, specifically revision and learning techniques, which worked effectively and above all made me enjoy the subject!
