About Tom
I have just completed my four-year integrated master's degree in chemistry at the University of Oxford, where I have also tutored A Level and GCSE chemistry and maths for the past four years.
I have delivered over 800 hours of lessons so far, with only 5* reviews commending my teaching style and personalised approach, as well as my focus on exam practice.
I am extremely passionate about tutoring, as I am incredibly motivated by seeing my students succeed and get the outcomes that they deserve.

All lessons are tailored to each individual student’s needs, with a key focus on exam practice and technique. I ensure my students gain a deep understanding of concepts, rather than relying on memorisation.
Initial lessons often focus on identifying the key areas of difficulty, such that these can then be targeted in focused sessions.
Most lessons involve spending as much time as required teaching and understanding the concepts of a specific topic. This is then always followed by application to exam board specific questions, ensuring my students know what is required of them in an exam context so ensure marks are not lost, even if they understand the content.
