About Kathryn

I am a University of Oxford Graduate with a first class degree in Fine Art and qualified English teacher with extensive educational experience both in tutoring and classroom teaching.

I have experience supporting students of all abilities and needs and my philosophy is that students should be thriving in an educational environment not just surviving.

I am committed to working collaboratively with students to ensure their education works with and for them whilst holding their long-term educational aspirations in mind.

Having an eclectic background combining high level academics at The University of Oxford as well as working with lower prior attaining students, SEND students and those with complex needs I am confident working with any student.

I understand the importance of supporting a student holistically as I have experience in safeguarding and pastoral support as well as this I am a qualified sport coach, coaching athletes at a World Championship level.

About the lesson

Experienced and qualified English teacher with specialism in SEND teaching and supporting students with complex needs.

Experience in 1:1, small group and full class teaching.

Previously I have worked in 3 mainstream schools and 1 SEND specialist school. I have also worked with an Oxbridge tuition company tutoring potential Oxbridge students.

Lessons and approach depend entirely on the student and their needs. All sessions will be bespoke to meet the needs and expectations of the student so as to support their long-term educational goals.

I am confident and experienced in phonics, primary school English, Y7-9 English, GCSE English Literature and Language, Functional Skills and A-Level English.
Similarly I am confident and experienced in tutoring Art at all levels including GCSE, A Level and University Prep.
I am also able to tutor Functional Skills Maths and support AQA Unit Awards.
