About Sophie
I know first-hand how much of a difference the right tutor can make. During my own GCSEs, I improved from a Grade 6 to a Grade 9 in Chemistry with the support of a tutor who helped me build my confidence and truly understand the subject. This played an important role in helping me achieve the grades needed to pursue my ambition of studying Medicine.
As a first-year Medical Student with an A* in A-level Chemistry, I’m passionate about helping GCSE students of all abilities not only improve their grades, but develop a genuine confidence and love for science.

My lessons are designed to make GCSE Biology and Chemistry feel less overwhelming and much more enjoyable. I take a friendly, patient and personalised approach, adapting each lesson to the student’s confidence, ability and learning style. We’ll break down difficult topics into simple explanations, use active recall and exam-style questions, and focus on building the confidence to tackle exams independently. Lessons will typically last one hour, giving us plenty of time to learn new content, practise applying it and address any areas the student is struggling with.
